On a Plod

WHAT IS ON A PLOD?

THE ALL DAY RUNNING FESTIVAL

On a Plod is a five-hour running event built around one simple 3km loop, an all-day party at the race hub and an after-party once the running is done. Run as much or as little as you like, stop whenever you want, then go again if you fancy it. No minimum distance. No pressure to be fast. Just a big day out.

3KM

THE LOOP

Every lap brings you back through the race hub, the music, your mates and another chance to decide what comes next.

5H

THE WINDOW

The course stays open for five hours while the hub keeps going around you. Keep moving, take breaks or call it whenever your finish line feels right.

YOU

CHOOSE YOUR FINISH LINE

There is no minimum. One loop counts. Twenty loops count. Your day, your distance, your finish line - then stick around for the party.

HOW THE DAY ACTUALLY WORKS

ARRIVE. START. LOOP. RESET. GO AGAIN. THEN PARTY.

The whole format is deliberately simple. Run your way, come back to the hub after every loop, refuel, see your mates and get pulled into the all-day party happening around you. When the five hours are up, the after-party starts.

01

ARRIVE AT THE HUB

Check in, get settled, find your mates and take in the fact you're about to spend a few hours running around in circles - with music, food, drinks and a party waiting every time you come back.

02

EVERYONE GETS GOING

Once the Plod starts, you're free to settle into your own rhythm. Fast, slow, walk-run, chatty pace - all absolutely fine.

03

COMPLETE A 3KM LOOP

Each loop takes you away from the hub and brings you right back to it. No disappearing for hours with nobody around.

04

RESET AT THE RACE HUB

Grab a drink, eat something, see your mates, soak up the music, have a breather or head straight back out. The hub is the party between the laps.

05

DECIDE WHAT'S NEXT

Another loop? A longer break? Done for the day? Nobody makes that decision except you.

06

STAY FOR THE PARTY

Your running can stop without your day ending. The hub keeps going all day, then once the course closes we carry straight on into the after-party.

WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN LOOPS?

THE HUB IS THE PARTY BETWEEN THE LAPS.

Because every loop comes back to the same place, the event never feels like you're out there on your own. The hub is where the energy builds all day - music, food, drinks, supporters, mates and people heading back out for one more loop.

REFUEL Grab food or a drink, reset and decide whether you're ready for another lap.
SEE YOUR MATES Every lap brings everyone back together, even when people are running completely different distances.
TAKE A PROPER BREAK Sit down for five minutes or fifty. There is no punishment for stopping.
STAY FOR THE PARTY Music, food, drinks, supporters and people cheering each other back out for one more loop - before everyone carries on into the after-party.

THE BIT THAT'S HARDER TO EXPLAIN

IT FEELS LIKE AN ALL-DAY PARTY THAT HAPPENS TO INVOLVE A LOT OF RUNNING.

The format matters, but the party is what makes the whole thing feel different. The music starts while you're still running. The hub gets louder as the day goes on. People finish, grab a drink, cheer everyone else on and stay. Then, when the five-hour window closes, we carry on into the after-party.

“The atmosphere at the event was completely unique and so welcoming. Loved the whole event - top to bottom, worth travelling for.”

CHOOSE YOUR FINISH LINE

ONE LOOP COUNTS. SO DOES SIXTY-SIX KILOMETRES.

The whole point is that achievement looks different for everyone. Some people arrive wanting to complete their first 10km. Others want a marathon. Some just want to see what happens. Whatever your finish line is, you finish into the same party as everyone else.

HOW WE GOT HERE

IT STARTED WITH 20 MATES RUNNING AROUND IN CIRCLES.

The format has stayed simple. The events have got slightly out of hand.

20 MATES. ONE TEST RUN.

20 PEOPLE THE BEGINNING

The first one was exactly that: a test. Get twenty mates together, give them a loop, add some music and see whether anyone actually enjoys spending hours running around in circles before turning it into a proper day out.

“The vibes and seeing people of differing abilities enjoying themselves with no pressure.”

20 BECAME 70.

70 PEOPLE FIRST PROPER EVENT

The first proper event proved the idea worked beyond a group of mates. More people, more energy, more time hanging around the hub and the same simple rule: you decide how far is enough.

“I loved the concept of being able to run any distance. It made the event accessible to people of all abilities.”

THE ENERGY BECAME THE THING.

70 PEOPLE BIGGER ATMOSPHERE

By event three, it wasn't just about the loop. The signs, the music, the drinks, the people hanging around and the support between laps were becoming as important as the running itself. The all-day party had become part of the point.

“The freedom to run as many laps as you can, and the staff were so friendly and supportive. It had such an inclusive feel to it.”

150 PEOPLE. STILL NO PRESSURE.

150 PEOPLE BIGGER AGAIN

As the crowd grew, the aim was to keep the feeling exactly the same: no egos, no intimidating race atmosphere and no idea that one person's distance mattered more than someone else's — just a bigger hub, a bigger party and more people staying long after their last lap.

“The atmosphere at the event was completely unique and so welcoming. Loved the whole event — top to bottom, worth travelling for.”

320 PLODDERS. THINGS GOT SILLY.

320 PEOPLE THE BIGGEST STEP UP

Hundreds of people, all running different distances, all returning to the same hub and all part of the same event. Bigger scale, louder party, same pressure-free idea.

“Honestly everything. The volunteers were beyond incredible, the setup was so slick and proper, and the whole thing exceeded all expectations. 12/10.”

LONDON. MANCHESTER.

700 people LONDON + MANCHESTER

Taking the Plod to Manchester proved the atmosphere wasn't tied to one venue or one city. The format works because of the people who turn up, the energy they bring, the laps they run and the party they stay for afterwards.

“Energy was unmatched. Loved the race hub and every marshal was so fun to run past.”

SO...

FANCY SEEING WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT?

Come for one loop. Stay for ten. Take a break. Go again. Surprise yourself. Then stay for the all-day party and the after-party. That's basically the whole idea.
